I have cellulitis and would like a quick fix to rid the swelling of my feet and legs. I am an active woman and can't lay around all day to elevate my feet and legs and would appreciate any suggestion other than compression hose and elevation of limbs. Thank you.
I have read your query and understood your concern. If cellulitis is confirmed, the definitive treatment for the same is oral antibiotics with good antimicrobial coverage like 3 rd generation cephalosporins to be taken for 1-2 weeks.
Additional measures like limb elevation and compression bandages will help in reducing swelling and symptomatic relief.
first get your blood sugar level tested. Cefuroxime 250 - 500 mg( adult dose is 500) 12th hourly, for 7 days.Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. keep ur leg raised whilst you are resting, using pillows.Prevent recurrence by maintaining good hand hygiene, keeping your skin moisturised, treating cuts and grazes or any broken skin caused by a condition such as eczema, treating fungal infections of the hands or feet, such as athlete's foot
