How To Treat Chronic Headaches?

Hello, I have a worst headache since at least 20 minutes. I don t feel my head anymore, it s more like someone is sitting on my head or like my head would be in a box but the box is always getting smaller. What is happening with me and what I can do?

Hello dear,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have told you that most common causes of chronic headache are 'Migraine' and 'Tension type headache' epidemiologically.
If you are having episodic throbbing headache along with retro-orbital pain,it can be migraine. Some of the other typical symptoms are-
1)nausea
2)Photophobia and phonophobia(headache worsens on exposure to bright light and sound)
3)Visual aura
Please check for these symptoms if they are associated with your headache. If yes,it can be migraine.
Tension type headache is usually a diffuse headache or more commonly present at the back of head and neck.It can improve on tight pressing the scalp. One tends to forget it while doing some interesting task.It can be very severe episodically.
Please discuss with your physician so that he takes a detailed history, makes a diagnosis and starts you on treatment.
Hope it helped you.
