How To Treat Dark Red Spot On Lower Eyelid?

HI. I just got a dark red spot on my lower eyelid. It came up "out of nowhere" without pain or impact. Everything was OK when I wake up, 3 hrs later I noticed it. It looks like a 1/4" by 1/8" purple spot, similar to a bruise. Do you have any opinion or idea what can cause this?

you have said purple spot in conjunctiva. but have not said exact place like skin part or conjunctiva. any itching sensation. it can be allergic or minor injury while sleeping.it will be better to get it examined by eye doctor. when there is no symptom you can wait there is no hurry.
