How To Treat Diarrhea With Blood In Stool?

I have a near year old infant that had a loose diarrhea bm this morning. It smelled fishy. An hour later, after she was straining to poop, I checked her diaper. There was a tiny bit of fishy smelling diarrhea and clear mucous with red, (blood?), in it. She doesn't have a fever, is not throwing up. She has recently started on finger foods, (ie. she had chicken nuggets and broccoli last night). She had a popsicle yesterday too. She breast feeds and drinks formula. She is up to date on her immunizations and was 20 pounds and 2 and a half feet tall at her 9 month checkup, (3 months ago). What do you think the cause of the diarrhea is and how can I stop it?

Make sure you wash her hands properly before she eats her finger food.
Do continue breast feeds. She might require antibiotics and probiotics, as she might be having a gut infection. Do send the stool for routine examination.

Hope this helps.
