Ive had Diarrhea for the past week and im worried something may be wrong, Ill admit of eating fatty foods often but thats only because the town I live in doesnt give me any choice and that combined with the fact ive been staying up late alot, what can I do to get myself back to normal
The mainstay of the treatment of diarrhoea is oral rehydration if you can take orally.
Further treatment is dictated by the cause of diarrhoea. For example if there is associated fever, abdominal pain or blood in stools then antibiotic is also prescribed.
And if it's osmotic diarrhoea then drugs which decrease bowels movements are advised.
However, any drug should be used only with the consultation of your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Muhammad Zahir Shah, Internal Medicine Specialist
