Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter had a c section just over two weeks ago. She has been exposed stiffy a virus with symptoms of vomiting, diarrhoea and fever but I am concerned because she has had green, watery stool for a couple of days now and is only eating a cracker here n there. Could this b a sign of something being wrong aft er a c section?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood our concerns. C-section can not cause green watery stools. The cause of green watery stools, nausea, vomiting can most probably be due to intestinal infection. I would advise her the following in such a situation: Get stool and blood test. Consult a Doctor to get breast-feeding safe antibiotics for control of intestinal infection. Also needed are probiotics, multivitamins and other supplements that are given for post-C-section. Give yogurts and banana. Plenty of oral fluids and electrolyte solutions for avoiding dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
