How To Treat Fluid Build Up In Ears Which Has Caused Hearing Loss?

Hi :) My 17 year old daughter has seasonal allergies. She takes Claritin every day and is also on Ritulin for ADHD. A few weeks ago a doctor said she had fluid in one of her ears. He thought the allergies/cold were the cause. She doesn't complain of any pain currently but says she can't hear out of her ear. She did have an upper resp. irritation and they put her on steroids at that time as well. Shouldn't the fluid have cleared up by now? Does she need antibiotics?

Hello.By the symptoms that you refer, ear infection is likely diagnosis.
Probably it is necessary to use antibiotic in drops or to take by mouth.
Please go to your doctor to confirm diagnosis and for prescription.
I wish you good health.
