Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm a very overweight individual (bmi 40) who eats a relatively fatty diet. I drink occasionally (socially) and have just been told that my ALT level is at 75. I'm not overtly concerned but I am curious if this is a result of my lifestyle and should I overtly concerned.
Hello, Obesity, fatty diet and drinking alcohol can all cause rise in ALT levels. You should definitely be concerned about it since persistent high levels of ALT levels can result in damage to liver cells.Damage to liver cells in long run can cause hepatitis and cirrhosis. Thanks
