How To Treat For The Medicine Overdose For A 3 Year Old?
Hi, please help me. My son is 3 years old and developed cough and cold followed by high fever. I took him to the doctor and doctor said that it was viral infection. Now he has no fever but he still has high cough, so doctor prescribed Ascoril L s+ and TusQ DX. Both 3.5ml three times a day, but by mistake he was given 5ml each three times a day since last 3 days. I suddenly noticed redness on his skin all over the body today and checked doctors prescription and found that I have given him overdose. Now I am worried what to do and how to treat his skin redness. Please help me... Thank you.
I do understand your pain and discomfort. As per your history is concerned first stop medications of overdoes the first medication Ascoril LS+ we usually give 5 ml for a child aged 3 years old.
Secondly, for TusQ-DX we give 2.5 ml for 3 years old and it is a cough suppressant so if you have given in higher dose so no need of it. Alternatively you can give [KOFAREST-syrup 5 ml three times a day] which can be used both as bronchodilator as well as liquify cough.
I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me. Wishing you all the best.
Thanks, Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
