Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I bruised my right big toenail 5 weeks ago and the last few nights when in bed I ve had immense pain on one side of the toenail. This just happens when I m lying down in bed and for a while after I get up. It looks like the toenail is curbing into my toe, like its constricting my toe
I will advise to do hot water fermentation and do gentle massage over the outer aspect of the nails and the toe muscles. Due to abnormal tissue growth, the pain can occur while providing the compression over the soft tissues nearby. Hot water fermentation will help the tissues to relax and gentle massage will help the spasm to reduce.
In case the nail is growing and not relieving the pain then removal of it will be advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
