I have a headache that started behind my eye and now I have a sore scalp. It feels like a sunburn, only on one side of my head and it is sore to the touch. I have had this before and it comes and goes, usually lasting a couple of days or so. I believe it is nerve related. There is no rash or skin irritation and no sunburn. Thanks.
Hello dear, I understand your concern.Your headache is retroorbital, unilateral(on one side) and episodic, where each episode last around 1-2 days.Going epidemiologically, most common cause shoud be migraine, but migraine has some hallmark features which are- 1)Pulsatile or pulse like 2)Associated with sensation of vomiting 3)Photophobia(headache increases on bright light) 4)Phonophobia(headache increases on loud sound) 5)Visual aura like seeing flashing zig-zag lights, dark spot in field of vision 6)Trigger factors which can increase the headache or precipitate it and triggers can be stress, sunlight, food items like tea, coffee, cheese or any other factor which the patient has to trace herself/himself. So,see if you have these associated. Cluster headache and paroxysmal variants also need to be ruled out .Please visit a neurologist and he may get a brain imaging also to rule out structural lesions.I hope it helps.
