How To Treat Impaired Glucose Intolerance During Pregnancy?

hi. i"m 33 weeks and 3 days pregnant. My doctor diagnosed that I have Impaired Glucose Intolerence and suggested i make some changes in my diet. I now do weekly visits to monitor the sugar levels. It seems like i made the right changes to my diet because my sugar levels have somewhat normalised. however, now my doctor is worried that i'm losing weight with each weekly visit? other than the diet changes, could there be other causes of me losing weight at this stage of my pregnancy? what are the implications on my baby as a result of my weight loss? I seem to drop a kilo with each visit. i don't think i gained much weight to begin with. I started out at around 80 kg, now am constantly bumping between around 92 kgs and 88 kgs.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Dietary changes - a low carbohydrate diet will help in bringing the impaired GTT to normal. It will help in stopping the further deterioration in metabolism.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
