How To Treat Injured Tail Bone?

I feel on wet patio blocks and landed on by bottom, bruising my tailbone. I had just started a tai chi program because I have arthritis in my knees. Can I continue that program and how long does it take for a tail bone to heal? If I lean forward and pick up something I notice the pressure put on the tail bone. Sitting bothers me slightly, depending on the chair.

Hello,
Sorry to hear about your fall.
Tail bone is the coccyx bone and the way you describe your fall, seems that you might have injured the same.If the pain is unbearable, it could be a coccyx fracture and I recommend you take an Xray Coccyx Lateral view for the same.
Nevertheless, a bruise will self heal in 2 weeks time.
You can take a Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory drug once a day before going to work eg;Aceclofenac 100 mg along with a combination of Tab. Serratiopeptidase if feasible.
Meanwhile, a Sitz bath once a day will help you heal faster and reduce the pain.
Here is a link to Sitz bath https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unc33F-Ye3k
And, kindly use a Horse Hoof shaped air pillow aka Coccux pillow, to sir on your work chair.
Good Luck !
