How To Treat Intense Pain Around Lumbar, Hip And Legs Post Left Hip Replacement?
I am trying to get some idea of what might be going on with me so that I can bring it up to my physician to have him check. I don t feel like I am getting enough information to him and he just patting my on the head and rushing me out the door. Something is very wrong and I need help finding out what is wrong with my body. I have two separate issues going on. Number 1: I have extreme fatigue, dysphagia, nutcracker syndrome, ulcers abdominal pain and tenderness. I have constipation. My upper GI was. Normal. Number 2: I have a spinal defect somewhere. I have already ready had a left hip replacement. I have osteoarthritis, I have numbness tingling down my legs like a sciatica type of problem only this is all day and night. I have so much bone pain at the tail bone up to the top of a waist band of jeans it makes me want to crawl out of my skin. I cannot wear pants or jeans because of the seam that goes down the back rubs on the tail bone and makes my pain worse. I have pain in the illiac crest area. I have great difficulties sitting in a chair. I lean so I don t make the pain worse. What do I do??? I am not interested in opioids. I am looking for a more permanent solution! I am only 53 years young!
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your number 1 problem could be solved by gastroentelogist. Number 2 problem can be attributed to lumbar canal stenosis. Do you get tingling and numbness in both legs after walking for few steps? if yes it is sign of neurological claudication. Diagnosis needs to be confirmed by Mri of lumbo sacral spine with screening of whole spine. It is highly sensitive and specific for diagnosis of spine pathology. If it shows canal stenosis you need to consult spine surgeon with report. Meanwhile start tab pregalin x 75 mg one at bedtime for relief of radicular pain in lower limbs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
