How To Treat Irregular Heart Rate Causing Anxiety?

I m a 60 year old female with a new onset of diovan. I had a heart cath a month ago and no blockage . I am on 80 of diovan now. I also have myasthenia gravies and take prednisone and imuran. I seem to have an irregular heart rate at times which I didn t before. It feels like a skipped beat and makes me anxious. Should I call my dr to see about changing the bp med.

Irregular heart rates being perceived as skipped beats need further work up in the form of a baseline EKG and a 24 hour Holter EKG monitoring.This can accurately quantify the missed beats and aid in therapy.An elctrophysiological study can lead to detailed analysis of the conduction pathways involved in rhythm genesis.Drugs like beta blockers,amiodarone can control the irregular heart beat.Lorazepam can reduce the skipped beats associated with anxiety.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
