Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I am of the view that the rashes on your thighs as well as on the torso are part of the same disease process.
I will keep a possibility of Tinea/
Fungal infection. Itching and involvement of the body folds makes me think of this possibility.
Fungal infection may start as involvement of the body folds but may also involve other sites when it becomes extensive.
A blood sugar testing may be required in those who have extensive and recurrent infections, as underlying diabetes/raised blood sugar does seem to predispose.
You may apply an OTC antifungal cream e.g
clotrimazole 1% cream Or miconazole 1% cream, twice daily.
However, for an extensive involvement such as this, oral antifungals e.g
fluconazole or
terbinafine would also be required in addition to topical antifungals. Oral antifungals are prescription drugs.
I would suggest that you seek an appointment with a
dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis. A fungal infection can be easily diagnosed by visual inspection.
A KOH examination can also be taken for a confirmatory diagnosis of a fungal infection.
