Hello,

It's always tough to get involved in parenting decisions when you're the grandparent. In general, I would suggest that if you have a picky eater you only offer them healthy foods, even when rescuing them from their own stubbornness.

So instead of ice cream - although that's not the worst, at least it has Calcium!, something healthy with protein.

Also, it is a typical plan to help picky kids be hungry and thus more motivated to eat at regular mealtimes - meaning no rescuing with late night snacks. Instead, a reminder that that's why we eat dinner, and he should look forward to a good breakfast.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Lisa Baker
