My Dad had a mini stroke behind his eye and now has neurotropic epiotholgy. (sp?) He has a marginal corneal ulcer that is not healing and will under go AMT(amniotic membrane transplant). If this does not work, they say they will have to sew his eye partially closed. Are there any other options?
it is a sallow ulcer on margin of cornea. they are superficial. very mild pain and discomfort will be there. vision is not effected. treatment is of two parts one is just like simple corneal ulcer with antibiotic drop and warm compression. second is steroid like prednisolone is to be applied with tappering. take care of blepharitis and lid margins are to be cleaned by sterile swab. hygine of face is to be maintained. healthy food and exercise is advised.
