My 68 year old husband has been complaining about a rather foul smell he is smelling through his nose. It has a sebaceous gland smell. I smelled it myself when he asked me to get close to his nose. I have not smelled it before. He has been complaining about this for several months. Could it be some kind of polyp?
Hi, From history it seems that he might be having chronic sinusitis leading to deposition of cough in sinuses producing this type of smell. Having infected polyp in sinuses or nose does cause this problem. Consult ENT specialist and get examined. clinical examination of nasal cavities and x-ray para nasal sinuses will give clear clue about his problem. Meanwhile ask him to go for tinct benzoine or Vicks vapor inhalation. Ok and take care.
