I understand your concern and I will do everything I can to answer your question.
I am so sorry you aren't feeling well. Nausea and
vomiting during
pregnancy can certainly be frustrating. The good news is that it will almost certainly go away in the next few weeks and (kind of a mixed blessing) healthy pregnancies produce more hormones that make you sicker than an unhealthy pregnancy: moms with
severe nausea and vomiting actually have a lower risk of problems with the pregnancy such as
miscarriage. The baby doesn't require a lot of extra nutrition early on: lots of moms lose weight due to nausea and vomiting and their babies usually do just fine. Stay well hydrated, drink lots of water and let your doctor or midwife know if you are getting dehydrated (
dry mouth, dizzy, lightheaded, heart racing or if you go more than 12 hours without making any urine).
I tell my patients to try the following: they are all quite safe and you may need to mix and match to find the best combination for you but they usually help a lot.
- ginger (ginger ale and cookies only have a little ginger - better is dried or candied ginger, ginger tea or ginger root extract)
- vitamin B6 supplements
- sea bands (people use them for sea or
motion sickness)
-
pyridoxine (if you can get to a pharmacist, they can help)
I hope that helps and best of luck to you, feel better soon.
