How To Treat Nodules Present On Thyroid?

I have a frog feeling in my throat that comes and goes. Went to the dr. And the did blood work. Came back calcium was elevated to 10.3 and my vitamin b 12 was elevated along with elevated cholesterol. My liver enzymes were also elevated a little bit. I have a terrible metallic taste in my mouth and have been having blurred vision. They sent me back to have more blood work and did imaging of my thyroid. Turned out that I have 2 nodules on one of my thyroid and my thyroid tested out normal even the para thyroid. I ve had low energy and brain fog too. Any ideas? I have an appointment wed. With the endocrinologist but I m scared since my thyroid is functioning fine.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to hcm.
I have read your question and i can understand your concerns.

If i were your treating physician i would have done physical examination such as blood pressure, tremors, sweating, proptosis, thyroid exam to ascertain any lump and to ascertain hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.i would have asked about weight loss, feeling of warmth or cold, diarrhea ,weight loss, anxiaety and depression.
For the thyroid nodule i would have done fine needle aspiration cytology or excision biopsy to ascertain whether it is benign or malignant .
For thyroid malignancy surgery will be done with or without radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
Hypothyroidism will need thyroxine tablets upto 150micrograms with regular thyroid function tests.
Hyper thyroidism will need carbamizole or methimazole.

I would suggest you to meet endocrinologist and a general surgeon.
Meanwhile remain calm.

Thanks.
Hope the answer is helpful.
