How To Treat Pain In Left Chest And Rapid Heart Beat And Being Diagnosed With Asthma?
My 11 year old son has asthma and had an allergy injection on Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon we found out he was running a fever. We took him to a walk in clinic and found out he had strep throat--tonsils huge. He's been on antibiotics since Saturday evening. His fever has broken but he is complaining of the left side of his chest hurting when he breathes in and he says when his heart beats. Should I take him to see someone?

It is possible that he may have pleuritis which is inflammation of the pleura.
The pleura is the lining of the lung. It can become inflamed under different circumstances including infections of the airways.
It is normally treated with pain medication.
If he is in significant distress however, it would be best to take him to his doctor for assessment.
