How To Treat Painfully Swollen Tonsils While Having Throat Infection?
Hi my tonsils are extremely swollen, and I'm having a lot of pain in my throat and glands in my neck. I have always had tonsil stones and I get strep throat and throat infections very often. I've had strep throat twice this year and many throat infections on top of that. It's hard for me to breathe and my sleeping hasnt been great
Your symptoms are pointing towards Tonsillitis that is most probably due to bacterial throat Infection... Tonsil stones can also increase the frequency of tonsillitis.. So first of all you need to get the Infection treated, for this consult an Emergency room and get a prescription of antibiotics like Azithromycin and anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.. Along with it do warm salt water rinses and antiseptic mouthwash gargles.. Once the swelling gets reduced you can get further assessed that do you need Tonsillectomy done as you already have a history of tonsil stones and Tonsillitis..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
