Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 26 years of age. a have never had any chronic illness. i always come fast about 5 seconds when having sex and i feel i dont satisfy my partner. if we have two rounds the second would take about three to five minutes. do i have a health problem and how do i solve it?
You seem to be suffering from Premature Ejaculation. It is a condition characterized by early ejaculation causing lack of satisfaction in self or partner.
The best course of action will be to seek a psychiatric consultation for starting treatment in form of both medications and behavior therapy. Medications would include selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors like paroxetine (daily) or dapoxetine on as required basis.
Behavior therapy sessions would consist of 1-2/week for 6-8 weeks. It would incorporate relaxation training, sex education and learning methods like squeeze technique, start-stop method and distraction. Both medications and behavior therapy together gives better results. The outcome will be even more favorable if your sexual partner participates in the behavior therapy sessions.
