Hi. I have been having a persistent cough for over 3 months now. After lot of medication it stopped for a week and than started coughing and ended up with high fever. Again I am under medication and still causing. Cough is bad at night and sometimes its like an attack. After coughing I am so tired and breathless I feel like fainting. My work is getting so effected. This time doctor said nothing to worry about its just an allergic bronchitis. I dont feel good. This is the fouth time over the past 3 years n this time there is just no cure.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. In my opinion, you are mostly having chronic bronchitis. Best treatment for bronchitis is inhaled treatment. Since you are not taking inhaled treatment you are not improving completely. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test). PFT will tell you about severity of the disease and treatment is based on severity only. You will mostly improve with inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone). Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
