My 14 month old son has had red, itchy eyes for the last couple of days. Is there anything I can give him to help with the discomfort? My wife called triage earlier, and the nurse said we could give him Zaditor eye-drops. My wife became hesitant b/c the box read for ages 3 and up.
If the redness is only a sectoral or in 1 quadrant then it is inflammatory and need mild surface steroid drops but if total then probably conjunctivitis and need antibiotics like levofloxacin e/d or tobramycin e/d 4 times a dat along with lubricants 4 times a day 5 min apart.
It is allergic conjunctivitis. Give levocetrizine suspension 2tsf daily. apply cromal eye drop 2times daily. The cause of allergy can be cosmetic, food, environment, pet in house etc. Try to identify and avoid or refrain from them
