How To Treat Right Flank Pain, stomach Upset And Diarrhea With History Of Left Kidney Removal And Diabetic?
My left kidney was removed about four years ago, do to kidney stones. I have been having right flank pain, stomach upset and diarrhea for the last two weeks. I'm wondering if I need medical care? My Dr. Never seems to be really concerned. I have diabetes and my mother is on hemodialysis . Am I over reacting?
As per your previous history of left kidney removal due to stone disease, which is very unusual these days, you should be very much careful about your right kidney. Because in previous case also you must have neglected/ignored the symptoms for so many years resulting in permanent kidney damage. Now pain in right flank can be due to right side kidney stones as probability of stone in right kidney is very high. Second diarrhea can also aggravate the renal failure. Kindly get your ultrasound abdomen and renal function tests (blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine) done from a laboratory and consult a physician so he/she can examine you properly. Take sufficient amount of water and preferably ORS solution to prevent dehydration which is very much deleterious for you.
