HI everyone, i started track this year and i had been doing great with my body until like 2 weeks ago my hip started hurting me. at first it was a little pain and then it went away a little then it started coming back and at my last track meet i had to be pulled out of the 200. Just yesterday i had a meet and did the 100 started out with a little pain the more i got into the 100 i had severe pain in my right hip. I tried to do the 4 by 200 by the whole time i was limping and wobbling to the finish line. This whole time Ive been icing like maybe 4 times a day, and Ive been stretching. The pain is on the top of my hip bone, and around my IT Band. I went to the doctors today and they said my it band was inflamed. But my hips a lot and i was wondering if they gave me the wrong diagnosis, if anything else could be wrong with it. He didn't tell me why the top of my hip where the bone is, was hurting on that where my IT BAND was that it was inflamed. Please help me out!!! he didn't give me a x ray or anything else just checked it out. i have reginal in 2 weeks and i need to know how long this will take and if this is the right diagnosis. Also i have a meet saturday but my doctor said i should sit it out. It hurts to walk run of course sneeze and cough and laugh. Also when i was walking regular or trying i felt it popping.
