How To Treat Sharp Chest Pain?

I had a cold about a week ago and for 5 days now have had a sharp pain under my lower right chest, basically on my ribs. Each day it has been getting worse and I have to lean over when I cough to lessen the pain. About 10 minutes ago, I heard a crack in the area and the pain is worse. What could be causing this?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query.
This pain in all probability could be due to dry pleurisy for which you need to take ibuprofen tablet 400 mg twice daily after food for 3-5 days along with pantoprazole tablet 40 mg once daily before food. If not subsided with this treatment then you must undergo a digital chest x-ray (PA view) to exclude underlying lung and thoracic cage pathology and get yourself examined by a pulmonologist.
Thank you.
