Hello,
I can understand your concern. If you are able to well when you are not nervous or not being questioned, then your problem is surely related with
anxiety which seems to have roots in your childhood. The chin spasm at this time also seems to be the effect of anxiety you are feeling.
If you will work on your anxiety, you will surely be able to cope up with the problem. Try to breathe deep when you are in the situation where you are feeling nervous. Take deep breathe in through nose and get it out for longer time through mouth. Tell yourself that giving an answer is not a cause of fear and you can do it well. It is true that you have impact of childhood experience from your teacher, but you do not have any control over it now and should get over it.
If you really find it difficult to have control over this feeling and if it is compromising your quality of life, then you should consult a mental health professional or
psychiatrist. They are experts in giving
counselling sessions for cases like you and can also prescribe you medicines for short time if they feel the need.
However, if you are having speech difficulty even when you are not nervous, then you should see a
dentist to diagnose any problem with tongue.
I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. I wish you feel better soon.
Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
