How To Treat Spitting And Constant Mucous In Kids Allergic To Zyntex And Claritin?
My 14 year old son is spitting a lot, he gets a lot of mucus in his throat and has to consently spit. Several doctors have told us that it is an allergy, so we have given him allergy medicines including Zyrtex, Claritin and Singular but they are not working. Now another doctor is telling us that sometimes during puberty some boys get a lot of mucus in their throat due to the hormone changes in their bodies and therefore they have to spit a lot . The excessive mucus stops after puberty. Is that true?

Hi..no the pubertal changes are in no way related to the mucus in the throat. Excessive mucus is usually a marker of allergy only.
