Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother survived septic toxic shock in February. She also had Renauts (sp?). When she was in the ICU, she had two toes that became completely black. Six months later, she still suffers from swollen feet and toes. No one seems to know what is causing this. One of her big toes is also now almost perpendicular to the other toes. Where can she go for a consult?
Dear patient Swollen feet and toes after toxic shock is mostly due to low protein level in blood or due to kidney damage with fluid retention. Your mother needs to be investigated with 1. Serum protein levels 2. Renal function tests 3. Ultrasound of kidney ureter and bladder 4. Urine for protein. Call reputed lab nearby you and get this done. You need to visit physician with all reports.
