How To Treat Tender Spot In The Middle Of My Throat/neck With Swallowing Difficulty?

I have a very tender spot in the middle of my throat/neck..where they meet..not to the left or right side, but more like right in the middle. It has gotten progressively worse over the last 3 to 4 days and now it is becoming hard to swallow without it hurting. But it hurts on the outside, not the inside. My throat isn t sore.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have spot in the middle of my throat/neck with swallowing difficulty . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like achalasia , muscle spasm , gastroesophageal reflux disease , foreign bodies , esophageal ring , tonsillitis or esophagitis. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor will examine with laryngoscope along with physical examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory or recommend tonsillectomy . Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist for food pipe problem . For now eat soft , eat 1-2 bananas , do warm saline gargles and stay calm .
