How To Treat The Congestion Of Ear With Swelling In Throat?

I have a unique situation ( from my experience ) where i get a shooting pain in my throat on the left side when i blow my nose with a reasonable amount of pressure, otherwise my throat pretty much feels ok. I do sense a bit of "congestion" in my left ear, perhaps some slight thickness/swelling in my throat. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, Tim

Hello,
You are doing what we call a valsalva maneuvour .
You should never blow your nose violently and especially when you have nasal infections.
The infection in the nose spreads to the surrounding areas when you blow your nose .
Nose and ears are connected by a tube called as eustachian tube .so nasal infections spread to the ears .
There could be referred pain to ears , throat .
Get the nasal treatment and stop blowing.
In doubt do reply.
