How To Treat The Incision Turning To Dark Red Skin With An Odor?

I have an old incision that has be reopened three times during my life for different procedures. It is a long bikini line. On occasion (more than I prefer) the right side mostly turns a dark red and is moist with an odor to it. This may sound crazy but I put corn starch on it and it helps it. I was curious what would cause this to do that..

Your symptoms seem to be related to an infection of the incision.

I suggest to clean frequently the incision and apply antibiotic cream for local treatment.

I also suggest to cover it with a clean bandage.
