Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I think my daughter might have dysnomia. She has had trouble mixing up words since she started talking and often can not come up with words when she talks to you. The problem is bad enough it interferes with her ability to be understood. She struggles in school. It takes her a long time to get concepts in math and she is below grade level in reading. My question is who do I go to for help?? This seems to be a disorder that would not be very well known to most school staff. She was in Speech a couple years ago, but was dismissed because she had met her goals. The speech teacher did say there was still a problem but was not sure what else she could do to help. Do I need to seek a specialist??
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, in my opinion she needs to be seen by pediatric psychiatrist, here beside her disability she might be in need of confidence, her self confidence would be very important and for this purpose only, better to see the child psychiatrist, hope this information helps, take care.
