Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past few months I can t sit indian style - crossing my legs, nor can I get on my knees for any period of time. When I get up to walk it takes awhile for my leg to fully extend, and is very painful. I have had a desk job for 12 yrs. Prior to that, I stood on my feet most of the day for 15 yrs. No sports injuries. 54 yr old female.
The symptoms that you have are suggestive of age-related osteoarthritis of the knee joints. This happens due to decrease in joint lubricants. Pain killers, proper supplements and regular physiotherapy can help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Praveen Tayal, Orthopaedic Surgeon
