Hi, my throat has been sore and just checked in the mirror and saw that the roof of my mouth is white, my tonsils are red and somewhat swollen. I also found two bumps on the inside of my cheeks one on each side and the back part of my tongue seems to be white and cracking. Is this strep or is this something else?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sore and swollen throat which is due to tonsillitis/upper respiratory tract infection. It seems to be due to bacterial infection. Need not to worry. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Get blood and sputum tests done. You should take proper course of antibiotic such as Amoxicillin along with antiinflammatory medication. You should take diet rich in fruits and vegetables and avoid cold carbonated beverages. You should maintain oral hygiene. Do warm saline gargles.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
