Hello, I'm a teenager and here lately I've been feeling a tightness in my chest, it's a little higher up. For the past two weeks on Wednesdays we've been running a mile in gym and I've had a terrible cough afterwards. Is this something that I should be worried about.
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. In my opinion, we should should first rule out exercise induced asthma in your case. This is common in teenagers and cause cough especially after exercise and Chest tightness. You are having terrible cough after gyming and also have chest tightness. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. Clinical examination of respiratory system 2. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test). PFT is must for the diagnosis of exercise induced asthma. You may need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS). If PFT is normal then no need to worry for asthma. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
