How To Treat Total Cholesterol Of 246 Mg/dl?

Dear doctor,i am 38 years old male with Total cholesterol - 246 mg/dl
Trugktcerudes - 156 mg/dl,HDL - Cholesterol - 40 mg/dl
LDL - Cholesterol - 186 mg/dl,Note:- Fasting blood sugar - 60 mg/dl & my blood pressure is also normal & my weight - 80, height 173 cm,since 4 years i have cholesterol , but only last two months before i took tablet of 10 mg for only one month it was reduced to 149 mg/dl. But now it is again total cholesterol - 246 mg/dlI do exercise & walking regularly , also i control my food , i never eat red meat, mutton, chicken.What should i do to reduce my cholesterol to normal range.

Welcome to HCM.

Based on the information you have provided, looks like the medication you had started worked initially. I assume that you were prescribed one of the statins (low dose). However, now it is increased again. The dose of the medication needs to be titrated again based on your most recent blood lipid profile. Although you do not eat meat, fried food, food rich in fats and carbohydrate, and sweets can drastically increase your cholesterol as well.

Lifestyle advice: Wherever applicable to you, limit the intake of fried food and increase the intake of vegetables and fruits, and foods rich in fiber. Continue your daily physical exercise such as brisk walking, and endurance exercise such as running or cycling or swimming every day for 30 minutes. No smoking.

Suggested medications: In similar cases, I have advised fenofibrate in addition to statins.
