Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
Based on the description of your symptoms, I suspect that you might have possibly strained the affected group of muscles.
There is absolutely nothing to worry about your condition as it will resolve with the following measures -
– Stop the activity that caused the
injury and rest the injured joint or muscle.
- Apply ice wrapped in a damp towel to the painful area for 15 to 20 minutes every two to three hours during the day. do not allow the ice to touch your skin directly because it could cause a
cold burn. Do not allow the ice to touch your skin directly because it could cause a cold burn.
- Oral anti-inflammatory medications (such as
Aleve or
Motrin) can help relieve symptoms of pain and also calms the inflammation.
- Before activities, gentle heating can help loosen the muscle. Apply a heat pack to the painful area prior to stretching or exercising. As a general rule of thumb, remember to heat before an activity and ice afterwards.
- Gentle stretching is helpful, but it should not be painful.
-
Physical therapy may speed up the recovery process. Therapeutic modalities such as
Ultrasound, Massaging and specific exercises will be helpful.
Hopefully, you should get well with the above measures. If not, consult an orthopedic surgeon for further management.
Wishing you a quick recovery. Good day
