How To Wean Off Pain Medication For Chronic Severe Headache?

Hi.I have been taking prescription pain medication for about a year now for chronic severe headaches. I ha c.f. e heard horrible withdrawals stories about people wanting to stop these type of medication. My question is how do I stop or wien myself from these meds?

hello and welcome.
the method is to not stop them immediately but half the dose by 25 % in the first week and progressively more as the time goes on. for withdrawal one can take the same dose as per need. please consult your doctor for other alternatives that don't have dependence side effects.
