How Useful Is Storing Umbilical Cord Blood And The Cost Of Treatment If Required In Future ?

I was recently introduced to the idea of umbilical cord blood banking for future stem cell treatment . I actually liked it...and the fact that it has EMI option. The company promising the moon. But now I am in a fix whether go ahead or not...my questions are, how useful this might be? and will it be super expensive to use cord blood stem cell, if I need to treat a disease/ disorder of my child in future?
