How Will Caffeine And Smoking Effect Nuclear Medicine Stress Echocardiogram?

I am scheduled for a nuclear medicine stress echocardiogram tomorrow and cannot find my instructions. I remember no caffeine and smoking for a bit before and a very light breakfast due to diabetes... but cannot remember what they said about how caffeine and smoking will affect my test???

Hi,
Caffeine and smokking will increase your resting heart rate, smokking also can cause spasm in your coronary vessel. These effects are not favourable for the test.
