Huge, Hard, Purple Lump With Bruising On Forearm Due To Fall, Constant Throbbing Pain. Is This Serious?
I fell down some stairs last night and immediately afterwards I had a huge lump on my forearm where my fall had obviously impacted. It is a bit better today after I have iced it but is still very swollen and purple/blue with bruising and feels harder than my other skin. I can move my arm absolutely fine and all of my fingers and wrist can move freely. The only thing I was concerned about was the rapidity of the swelling and the size of it and constant throbbing. Thank you
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The hard lump with color changes is due to a hematoma formation. This can happen due to a bone injury. The fracture of the underlying bone can only be ruled out after an X-ray of the area. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
