Hurt Knee, Swollen, Fever, Bump, Redness. Had MRI Done. Can Any Online Doctor Help Me To Read It?
my family and I were in a wreck in january. I hurt my knee. It continually stays swelled. Somedays are worse than others but it has never quit hurting. Some days it has a lot of fever and redness. The day following the wreck I fvelt something sort like a tearing feeling and extremely painful. It caused a large lump from my knee to the inside of my leg and I have paid at the very bottom of my knee cap. So I had an MRI and the nurse practioner wants me to see an ortho because she didn't unederstand what the report from the MRI was saying and I was wondering if someone could explain it to me? It reads Low grade fibrillation along the articular surface overlying the patellar apex and both patellar facets. Some patellofemoral and tibiofemoral chondral defects.
It simply means post injury effusion in the joint under knee cap with changes on cartilage in the joint surface. Un -protected and untreated will lead to degenerative joint disease , so see an orthopedist earliest who shall immobilize joint in knee brace or knee cap depending on clinical symptoms, analgesic/anti-inflammatory medicines etc.If MRI shos some fracture ,it will have to be dealt with accordingly.
