Hyperextended Knee, Fractured Growth Plate, Have Constant Discomfort And Extreme Pain. Will I Get Better?

6 years ago I fell down some stairs, hyper extended my knee, and fractured the growth plate in my left knee. I m 20 years old now and I ve always had slight discomfort in my knee, but lately it hurts all the time whether I m on it or not. I m not walking any more than I have in the past and I m not doing anything physically straining. Should I be concerned? Is it something I need to get looked into?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The extreme pain and the discomfort is ;likely to be due to the hyperextended knees. It is best to get it surgically corrected once you attain maturity. Using a brace till then will help.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
