hi iam 34 years female lab reports tsh 8.3 t3 and t4 normal free t4 is low hypothyroid very recently detected albumin globulin ratio low dr has given me thyronorm 25 mcg to be taken before breakfast for 3 days and 50 mcg for next 4 days having normal periods but puffiness on face and sudden weight gain with normal diet and excersice routine want to know thyronorm will help in loosing excess weght and reduce puffiness on face side effects of thyronorm

Your TSH is 8.3 which in turn indicate Hypothyroidism also as your free T3 is low; this disease is common in females but good part of the disease is that it can be treated completely by supplementation of exogenous Thyroxine.
Your weight gain may be partly due to hypothyroidism especially facial puffiness and swelling.
Please continue to take your Thyroxine as suggested by your doctor in morning empty stomach. I am sure this will help in reducing swelling simultaneously also take care of your diet and exercise to keep fit.
Please use iodized salt and go for periodic medical check up for clinical evaluation and Thyroid function test to adjust the dose of Thyroxine.
