Hypothyroidism Normal Previously. Lump On Side Of Neck. Feels Hard When Swallowing. What Could The Results Be?
i am a 37 yr old female who has been tested in the nrmal range a couple of time for hypothyroidism based on personal assumption, recently i noticed a lump on the left side of my neck in the lower area between the level of the adams apple but above the collar bone- it is noticable to me but not to others at this point- however i noticed it first after feeling a thickness on that side when swallowing. i am awaiting a new dr appt- the last testing was 2ish years ago- im sure they will perform the standard testing again, but unsure of what the results would be since it was normal range previously.
Good morning Welcome to Healthcare-Magic From the description given by you it appears to be thyroid swelling. Apart from thyroid profile your doctor would also like to do Ultrasound of neck for confirmation of the swelling and know it's anatomic origin. Wishing you a healthy life Take care
