I Feel Like I Have Something Caught In My Throat. What Should I Do?
I feel like I have something caught in my throat. It has been there all day and I have been eating and drinking and it has not gone away. What should I do? Only thing I can think of was it may have happened this morning when I took several morning pills I take.
As per your query you have feeling of something stuck in throat . Well this is very common problem . There can be many reasons like an food particle , gastrointestinal acid reflux , diverticula , tonsillitis , esophgeal ring or wed or mucosal inflammation . Sometimes hard objects like pill produce enough friction and irritate the mucosa , which results in the inflammation of mucosa . This gives the feeling of something stuck in throat . I would suggest you to avoid eating and drinking acidic , spicy and hot food and beverages . Do warm saline gargles and eat banana . If condition doesn't get better in 2-3 days then consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out above mention condition . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course ( amoxicillin ) and take out any particle if it is there under local anesthesia . Doctor may also prescribe anti inflammatory .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
